As you know, in conjunction with the NYS Clean Indoor Act (Public Health Law, Article 13-E), System Administration has adopted a policy which provides for a smoke free environment. Employee smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Employees who choose to smoke during work hours should use the smoking shelter located in the courtyard between the Plaza Building and Federal Building. Smokers must avoid the building fresh air intake areas, parking areas, and all building entrances including the Federal Building basement entrance. The purpose of this non-smoking policy is to limit the exposure of non-smokers to the effects of second hand smoke. All employees are asked to cooperate with this policy.
