Document Library - How to edit details of library entry

How to edit document library entry properties in the SUNY Blue SharePoint Cloud platform.

Body

  1. Navigate to the document library.
     
  2. Click the 3 dots (ellipsis) on the end of the record you would like to edit the details for. Then choose “Details” from the drop down menu listUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    ORif you don’t see the ellipsis skip to step 5.
  1. Detailed information about the document, including title, and dates will be displayed to the right of the document library list.
    Choose the "Edit all" link to edit the document properties. (If you have the permission to edit link will be available)

  2. Edit the data, and choose either “Save” option to save your changes.

  3. If you don't see the ellipsis on your document library entries - choose the check box to the left of the item you would like to edit.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  4. Once selected, a menu tab on the top of your screen will appear for Files & Library, Choose the “Files” tab, then the “Edit Properties” button on the tool bar. (If you have the permission to edit button will be available)

  5. An edit screen will display all the properties of the document to edit.
    Choose the Save button at the top to save changes.

Details are edited this way so that you can drag and drop multiple files onto the upload screen for a bulk upload into the library, then you can 1 by 1 edit the details of each of the documents.
